"0030: DONE DEAL
Another Everton departure we waiting for confirmation on. Striker Jermaine Beckford has joined big-spending Championship side Leicester for a fee which could rise to £4m."

Say no more.
Beckford isn't stupid enough to come to a club like Leeds United while Ken Bates is running the club. Ironic, isn't it, all the evidence flies in the face of Ken Bates' claim that players WANT to come and play for a club like Leeds United - when in actual fact, it is he himself who is the very reason they DON'T want to come to play for Leeds United!!
I cringe now as I realize that my worst fears about Ken Bates were correct all along......
Jermaine Beckford to Leicester - DONE DEAL

Bruv - you're clearly someone who puts emphasis on loyalty to a football cluband being truthful. And that deserves respect.
But rhetoric doesn't not command as high a price as truthfulness and comes cheap.
Most people in life expect some sort of 'reward' if they perform well for their paymaster over time.
All the players that have left, incuding Jermaine, were well aware that their efforts would never be rewarded by Ken Bates - IRRESPECTIVE of which club he owns.
The problem is Ken Bates - and us fans need to see that. Human instinct always draws us to improved financial circumstances in today's football climate. Things are relative to the others around us; now footballers know that they can command high wages, for the last 20 years they have, as a rule, gravitated towards money, rather than a club, the handful of globally famous clubs aside.
All sad - but true.

Jonny - not sure if bruv has been around long enough to have family members talk about those long serving famous legends of the 60s/70s.......
A time to be circumspect if you're a fan of Leeds United, me thinks......

The last game of the season will be hell with both Beckford and Kasper celebrating promotion, whilst Grayson does an interview saying 'we saw the same scenes at QPR last year, this make us even more committed to go up next year. Obviously Clayton and Nunez are moving on as the club feels we can do better so we will assess the squad and try to spend our budget wisely, which is entirely dependent on how much we get for Snodgrass.'

So Beckford could be playing against us this season, how many ex leeds players does that make now.
Boy oh Boy, they're going to enjoy playing against us and putting one up grayson and bates if they win.

He didn't have to agree personal terms though. Everybody was saying Leicester would have had to do some convincing to get him to move down a league.
