Anyone think it's a bit of a shame about the timing of this game. Stoke have just signed Peter Crouch and Carlton Jerome. They already have Kenwynne Jones, and according to the Bleacher report, now have a forward line with an average height of 6' 4".
Seb Coates would seem to be the ideal player to have against them, but it's just too early in my view.

THE game of football is normally played on the ground.. If we keep hold of posession most of the time! it wont matter if Stoke have a player at 200ft tall...

We'll be to good for Stoke! To quick, to mobile and just to good!
They may have a front line with an average of 6'4 but were not small and Carroll would be perfect to have both attacking and defending set pieces!

And if we play anything like we did against Bolton we should win.. Thats what we need to do in the league show similar preformances on a daily bases... Thats if we wish to improve..

Better to play them before the team starts to gel. Crouch is pretty useless anyway, nice guy but useless.

Carlton Jerome? Can't say I've ever heard of him

Agree that this a game where we should keep the ball on the ground. I think the Stoke defence would be happier to face Carroll, rather than the much quicker set up we had against Bolton. Think playing Carroll might be playing to their strengths.
