It’s looking very likely that Conte will be our new manager.

In truth there aren’t a lot of options for us right now. Diego Simeone and Massimo Allegri appear to be the other candidates. Before anything else is said about their credentials I honestly couldn’t see either one leaving their teams where they are challenging for the titles and have adoration from fans for a team who are very unlikely to be in the champions league next season.
I honestly know little about Conte but looking at his achievements I am excited. He took over Juventus after they had back to back 7th place finishes and won 3 consecutive league titles. No matter what league you are in that is an unbelievable accomplishment. I also really like the fact he gotten two different teams promoted from Serie B to Serie A. That shows he’s worked his way up and I think that adds a bit of versatility to his managerial skills. I’m sure people will say he underachieved in Europe compared to Allegri but it must be stressed that establishing them domestically gave Allegri the platform to achieve what he did last season.
It is likely we will finish anywhere around 10th-5th place this season and therefore it will be a bit of a rebuilding season next season which obviously gives Conte a similar scenario he had when first taking over at Juventus.
I for one am excited at the prospect.
Am interested in what others think?
Antonio Conte!

Advocate we were never getting Pep. As for Simeone I've actually really cooled down on the idea of him coming to Chelsea.
There are just too many similarities to José. Not saying they're the same but there are obvious parallels in the way they set their teams up.
José failed so spectacularly this season so I'd be very hesitant about bringing in a manager as similar to José as Simeone is.
Conte offers something new and I think the fans actually want to see us start playing some football for a change. We've had a taste of it under Guus and I will think we all want more, or most of us anyway.

Not a great appointment in the sense that it's a step backwards from Jose Mourinho, which was inevitable if we failed to get Guardiola or Simeone. Good appointment in that he's a guy with immense pedigree as a player and a coach who to date has yet to taste failure.
Out of the three touted for the position as of today he's my 2nd choice. Behind Simeone but ahead of Allegri

play Costa (love him, but why does he only ever score 1 goal per game?) and Traore together.

Good grief. We've tainted with horrifically bad strikers for years. We get one who 'only' scores 1 a game. And it's not good enough! 😂😂😂

Costa has been playing quite good lately but I would like to see us playing 2 up top.

Me too. It's as if we're contractually obliged to play a 4-2-3-1. I suspect that we might not play that way under Conte and that's all good with me.

Can I anyone remember the last time that we played 2 out and out strikers through the middle?
