I thought Sakho had played quite well the past few games and we were keeping clean sheets. Pity he smashed his head really.

I think it has got to be Lovren Sakho when fit hasn't it for the rest of the season? Don't know but it sounds as if Matip will be nailed on to start.

Sakho always seems to take a game or so to get back to his best after injuries

He has to stay centre half for me, he has been so good and made our defence calmer.

Reminds me a bit of when Rodgers brought Carra back into the side in his final season.

Lucas is showing what we have lacked in there in terms of leadership.

Long term he may not be the answer but short term he should be IMO.

I think this kind of depends on how Klopp sees Lucas' future. If he thinks of him as a CB then play him, no real why he wouldn't on form.

If he still sees Lucas as a DCM then he might as well play the CBs we do have when they're fit. Lovren was looking much better before the injury, little sense in playing a stop gap (even one in form) when a longer term option can be evaluated.

For the record, I don't see why Lucas can't make the transition to CB. He's shortish but apparently only 4cm shorter than Carragher and with Matip coming in at 6'4" we'd have height in a potential partnership.
