Given that it's already been acknowledged that he did 18 years for a crime he didn't commit they should let him off this one and say that was his sentence. He did his time up front then committed the crime after, bit like saving up for something instead of getting it on tick.

He already agreed a payout to settle his wrongful conviction.
A jail sentence is also about rehabilitation as well as punishment, so he would not have been rehabilitated and judged as safe for release.
I veto this idea.
