I don't fear any of tottenham's players

This season tottenham have clearly shown themselves as a good team but within their squad of players there isn't one player which instills fear in me and makes me dread the thought of him facing us.

For example in the striker position whilst kane is a solid premier league player there aren't any areas of his game which stand out and make him a frightening opponent- he's a reasonably good finisher and has good hold up play but isn't very quick and also isn't one to receive the ball on the turn and beat players (I have seen him do it on a few rare occasions). Maybe others think differently but because of these things when I see kane's name on the team sheet I won't think "oh no". If we're honest giroud is the same in this respect though and that's why moving forward if we're to move to the next level and compete with Europe's superpowers I feel we need our regular striker to be able to do the things which giroud does whilst also offering pace and dribbling ability. I actually have hope that welbeck could be that player but anyway this is away from the main point of the article.

My main point is that as individuals none of tottenham's players make me scared- kane, lamela, chadli etc are good players but none have what you might call that 'x factor' imo. Perhaps this is because none of them are blessed with great pace. Of all their players only eriksen comes close to making me scared mainly due to his set piece ability.

Do people agree that tottenham's individuals are not frightening? Or when you see kane and most likely players like lamela and alli on the line up tomorrow will you be filled with dread at the prospect of what they might do to us?

I agree with the OP and I fear playing Ozil and Sanchez when I think of playing Arsenal, Tottenham don't have that quality but play better as a team.

I felt hopeful of a draw at the Emirates but felt confident of a win at Spurs, make of that what you will.

I would think playing against Vardy and Mahrez would be a lot more frightening than Kane and Eriksen.

But it's not individuals that win games, well it can be of course, but having a better "team" is more important than a few stand out players.

I'm looking forward to this one and I'm gunning for a Gooners win but a draw will do me and if you can't win, just don't lose đź‘Ť

If Spurs were six behind I'd want them to win and I do agree with the OP. I don't fear any of their players whereas I do feel Ozil and Sanchez are a level above what they have in terms of quality. I also think opposition fans would feat Vardy and Mahrez more than Kane and Eriksen so I'm just being honest đź‘Ť.

We damn well better see passion from our players in this game

100% we don't have players that would strike fear into many top teams in the Premiership but on the flip side due to our team ethics, we don't fear any individual player in the premier league when we come up against them.

As a well drilled team we martial our areas extremely well and know that if said top star gets past you their will be someone who has your back.

On the bright side for Arsenal in the last few seasons after loosing to us you usually go on to overtake us with an amazing run so happy days!

Nevertheless, you'd rather have these players than not have them. Imo there's only so far a team can go without them as whilst a team without any real star players can win the odd trophy as atletico showed a few years ago and you could possibly show this year, I can't think of any examples of a team winning trophies on a consistent basis without any of these so called 'x factor' players which terrify opponents.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

First up, which Atlético side are you talking about, the one that won the odd trophy with Aguero and Forlan up front, the one that succeeded with Falcao as striker aided by Arda Turan and Diego Costa, the one where Diego Costa had the support of Arda again and David Villa? The ones that had a formidable goalkeeping presence such as De Gea, or Courtois (or perhaps even Oblak)? The ones where Diego Godin on his own was like a 3-man central defence?

OR

Could it be that some clubs can't earn consistent success because they don't have the financial means to hold on to their star players who might otherwise strike fear into their opponents for them?

On the OP, the fact you're not capable of singling out who you should fear underlines if anything pays testament to their merit as a team. Review the 75 goals they've scored this season, and try to work it out. Or maybe just fear them as a team.

I was talking about the one which won la liga in 2014. That's a fair point that they lost a lot of their key players after that title win but given their competition I find it unlikely that they would've been able to continue to win la liga with those players. Of course it was only 2 seasons ago though and perhaps atletico will add to that trophy collection in the near future without what you would call superstar players.

Again a fair point but for premier league clubs I'd say this is no longer true- with all the tv money the usual bottom half teams can afford to fend off offers for their star players from the bigger clubs. West Brom demonstrated this with berahino and I don't expect Leicester and west ham to allow mahrez and payet go this summer even if the big clubs come in

Yeah I'm not denying that they're a good team. I was just making the observation that as individuals they're not frightening. The manager deserves credit for gettinf them to play as they are
