I am actually quite proud to support a club which is brave enough to retain a degree of restraint. Everyone's been very very quick to judge the new signings / lack of signings, I say lets see how they are playing in a few weeks and also see who the club have lined up on loan.
Also, looking at some of the transfers, Beckford for example, and everyone else at the Bin Robbers, can any of them honestly say they moved purely for footballing reasons? They all went for money, everyone knows it, and its pathetically self serving, Forest don't want or need people with that attitude, and I think we should applaud that; do we really want a team of pre-madonnas like Leicester?
Additionally a great team does not necessarily need great players. They need 11 men to play well togather as a team and the players that Mcclaren has signed have brought a great deal of experience to the team. Greening WILL turn out to be a good signing and will help the younger players to develop and also has the English premiership experience, as have Reid, Boateng, Miller and Derbyshire.
Forest and McClaren will never compete for the top players coming into the Championship as the strict wage structure puts many players off wanting to sign. However, I think this is what keeps me supporting Forest as they are not willing to line the pockets of greedy players and ever greedier agents who care not a jot for the club they play for.
Football has changed, extravagance doesnt quite cover some of the fees payed for players and the wages paid to them for kicking a ball. The new rules will hopefully put an end to these crazy days and bring footy back to the fans who as ultimately paying for it!

Don't be daft.
You honesly think the player we signed came to us because they had a burning desire to play for Nottingham Forest?
Oh dear

i agree.
Abit sceptical about greening but i'd back up the idea of working as a team rather than as 'employees' for a pay cheque.
Its frustrating how easily people jump on peoples backs. I liked billy as much as the next fan, but it was obvious that with his war with the board, got as far as he could, some people cant face that. I would bother talking about how we always have a slow season, how we have brought in some good players, and we 're playing great attacking football, but the only people who are going to take it in are the people who already think it.
Ironicly doncaster are complaining less than us. we're had a slow start but doncaster haven't even started. Contenders/fodder predictions aside, anyone would be angry getting 1 point in 5

Laminator, I agree wholeheartedly. We have a good well assembled squad, a bit lacking in certain quarters, but with players like Anderson and McLeary coming back, we should be firing on all cylinders soon. I have no doubts we will be top 6 come end of season, which will be a great achievement, just like it has been the last 2 seasons.
And to the Leicester fans on here. You, as well as the rest of us, hated how teams like Chelsea and Man City bought success over the last few seasons ... countless people stated their disgust at how they simply waltzed in with a billionaires payroll and payed their way to the top. This is how the majority of the country feel about you now. Granted you'll probably get promoted with the millions you've spent, but you'll be hated nonetheless. If you're happy with this then so be it, I wish you all the luck you deserve.

Funny how the first two to jump on this thread are from Leicester and Liverpool. Nothing to do with them both realising their only route to success is via their chequebook after living in their rivals shadows for the past decade or more.
