Havard Nordtveit to join West Ham

He has agreed to join on a pre-contract agreement. Song is leaving

Thoughts? Any gooners remember him?

I vaguely remember him playing in the defense but not as a midfielder. Looks like Chamberlin type of player. Need some experienced midfielder if Song leaves.

He's pretty good. Wenger let him go purely cause he wasn't going to get game time at that stage.

yeah its a no brainer really. Nordtveit will be on considerably less wages than if we signed song permanently. This will free up wages for elsewhere. Plus song isn't half the player Obiang is, and this guy could be good cover

As others have indicated, I remember him as a non-playing centre back. Clearly his game has changed - *could* be a great signing.

Very good holding player and for free it's a bargain

I'm probably one of the few who thinks Song still has more to offer, the issue is the ability is there just not the consistency. 5 appearances left to activate a clause to sign him permanently? Surely we'd have to field him with the injuries we have.

Dont get me wrong, im not saying Song is no good. Its just a credit to Obiang how great he has been.

I agree that at the moment song should have a look in. But in future i want to see the likes of Cullen or Oxford get a chance there. Bilic rates Cullen highly and i dont see Oxford as a CB. That will be Reece Burke

Not so sure on the wages front, how much is Song on?

There were apparently several clubs interested in Germany, England and Spain. Strong negotiating position for the player.

Always looked good whenever I've seen him play for BM. Think he could easily prove to be more than just cover.

Look forward to seeing more of him next season then!

Was highly regarded as a youngster but needed to leave and get first team action to develop. Was never going to get it at Arsenal. DJ is the real expert on youth pkayers.
