So, who have we overrated?

According to a good many Gooners on here we have the best keeper in the league; the best centre back in the league , the best DM in the league the best number 10 in the world the best player in the league and a manager who in the last decade has done a job no other manager in the history of football could have overseen or done better with . Oh and how could I forget the best left back in the league and the best young defender in Europe

Taking all this into account, you really do have to wonder how we find ourselves 13 points behind a side with a centre back pairing of Wes Morgan and Robert Huth.

So, what's the problem? Who 's overrated? Someone has to be. Our players? Our manager? Our fanbase? Whoever it is, along with the rest of the established elite, we've had another laughable mess of a season in a string of them. This may just be the worst of the lot.

as soon as george grahams english spine went wenger was finished we should have got rid of him when martin keown left..

This false narrative should end; Wenger built the defense that won him his subsequent titles. What did Graham accomplish once he left? Absolutely stupid to discredit Wenger's success.

The Invincibles was after that. According to your logic his greatest achievement was after he was finished.

Wengers best defence was:
Eboue - Senderos - Toure - Flamini

Monreal was horrendous yesterday. He has had 2 or 3 of those type of games this season already. However Gibbs has not had a game like that since he was 19. Wenger has alienated a lot of the squad relying on a lot of the foreign players who have let him down. There is a terrible conception about the British core on this forum. But thats a lot down to staying fit not being unprofessional on the pitch.

We were 2-0 up and coasting. Just stay defend and counter and we would have won that game easily. Awful management and coaching. Nothing can defend it. Wenger should go.

Ufo99 got it right and come to a wrong conclusion yet again.

Keeper, no 10 and DM are the only positions I would say are the best in the league on their day. Defence, only Monreal is consistently good. Kos is hot and cold, Bellerin same but he's young. The rest are poor. Need replacing or relegating to the bench. Wings we need better players and strikers too. Those are poor for a club like Arsenal who have always had the cream of the crop attack

Cech is undoubtedly top class
The fullbacks are good.
Kos is a good centre back.
Coq is a good defensive midfielder.
Sanchez is class
Ozil is underwhelming for me. Too laid back.

To me you have the ingredients there, but have needed a bit more steel in midfield (Elneny may now give you that) and a consistent 9 for a few years

Can't fault this assessment, pretty much agree with this (although ozils effort levels have risen this season), the rest is pretty much spot on

Must be frustrating as fack. Don't get me wrong, it's great for us as it has probably cost you at least one title over the last decade.

Where do you go from here though? A new coach is a hell of a gamble . I think Pep would probably have come this Summer with any encouragement but that boat has sailed now. Ditto Klopp

Simeone not really the right style. Then who? Benitez? Allegri? Pellegrini? Bielsa? All risky.

Do you go homegrown (in terms of coached in England)? Howe, Flores, Rodgers or the like?

Do you go the ex player route, not often a success, such as Henry. Maybe with a coach such as De Boer and with a Bergkamp alongside him? Promote Bould from within?

Hard decisions

This is probably the worst ever time to do it too.

Previously you'd still have a good chance of keeping CL football even with ano average season, but I think it will be fiercely competitive next year. Possibly 8 teams in with a shout
