It wouldn't, it would have 2 wide men who don't track back as well as a hugely declining Rooney. It is reliant on a player leading the line who has played just 14 professional games in his career and a midfield duo that has never done much, one of which is declining even more than Rooney.

Spot on. And Ronaldo hasn't played as a right winger pretty much since he left us. Schweinsteiger could be finished now.

Martial, however, is only ever going to be an average winger. And there are too many of those about to waste too much time on him there.

i actually have a lot of faith in what i have seen from depay so far - contrary to the prevailing views often seen amidst the detritus on these boards. He, at least, appears to have all basics right, unlike too many others more favoured. He is also a far better 'line-leader' than he is a winger
