Spurs' position is fake. Anyone with basic knowledge of the premier league and rough points total for finishing positions can see that.

Their points tally in one which usually finishes 4th/5th. Look at Everton in 2014 for example. They finished fifth on 72 points, Spurs can only better that tally by one point.

Their fans won't have it though, they fall for the hype. In reality they are second place because all the big teams have much lower points tallies than usual.

^ To put that example into perspective, even if Spurs win their last game, they would have still finished behind 4th place by 6 points.

Not much consolation for this season though is it?

Brums that comment is more directed at the hype and expectation that Spurs will be a great team next year. In reality, if they perform to a similar level they should (key word should) be in a real battle for 4th place given the big clubs should all improve.

Even during their terrible 13-14 season with AVB getting fired and Sherwood taking the reigns, they got 69 points - only a max of 4 less than this season.

While I do think Spurs have been overrated this season it is quite bitter to belittle them when they have been better than your clubs.

It is a weak season, anyone can see that, Leicester won the thing for feck sake.

But it is also worth noting that Spurs are a very young side overall and shouldn't have even been in a title race at this time.

The only joke this season is that the power houses of Chelsea, Man Utd, Man City and Arsenal allowed these two teams to finish above them.

Never have four teams been humiliated in such a fashion before.

Don't put a downer on their best season for fifty years.

To be fair to Spurs, the teams below them would be battling relegation with form they have all shown this season in a normal season.
