Bus antics and LVG

In light of our shambolic performance against west ham. Just a few things i wanted to air;

Seriously, what is all this nonsense i'm hearing regarding the players antics? We live in a world now wherein selfies, twitter, etc are used normally by everyone for goodness sake. The point of discussion here should be the farking hooligans attacking the bus ffs. I don't really get all this nonsense about will Keane, Stam, Vida have done that. They probably wouldn't have, however times have changed and people round here really need to get their heads around this. I see nothing wrong with what the players did, Martial was in the mix and the lad went on to have another blinder.

In regards to the manager, I still stand by my claim he is a world class manager, however he has failed spectacularly this season. I hope we win the FA cup and part ways in harmony. I am not going to get into debates about what is wrong at this club, as it has been done million of times. If people however reckon the manager is the only problem at this club, then, think again. We are in serious trouble.

You could put some perspective on Jose's first term at Chelsea. He took over a team managed by Ranieri who had been second the season before, and were the richest team in the world at the time.
That doesn't mean his success wasn't deserved and so we're LvG said at AZ
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes, he did inherit a good team from Ranieri. I think Cech and Robben had already been signed and Mourinho signed Drogba who, as I recall, wasn't brilliant in his first season, and Tiago.

But he completely transformed that team, and very quickly. From being a good side that probably lacked a bit of mental toughness, they became a ruthless winning machine capable of playing some good football. He did a truly outstanding job with them.

That's a long time ago now, though, and I wonder if he's lost some of his magic.

I have read what Bayern said and it's not pretty. But he did win them the title the year before and got voted manager of the year by the players,. So not all bad.

But didn't the players have only one manager to vote for?

No idea why anyone has to belittle LVG's achievements. It really shows a lack of rational thought.

I see a lot of people giving Martinez grief and although he may not be a world beater, the guy has won a major trophy. Most managers will never achieve that in their life time.

With LVGs achievements with AZ let's put some perspective to it. Yes Ajax, PSV and Feyenoord are historically the big 3 but they were all poor at that point. None of them doing well in Europe and no comparison to teams of the past. Who won the Dutch league the year after? Twente, managed by Steve McLarlen!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Again with the belittling of the man's achievements

Do you apply the same perspective to this season's pl winners ?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Equally Poch, who you are quite impressed with, biggest achievement to date seems to be getting close-ish to winning the title but beaten by Leicester managed by Raneri.

We don't live in World where being a twittering, selfie taking childish mug is acceptable at work (yet) so you should expect these players (about to play one of the most important games of their season) to be a little more focused and professional...

Clockwork
Er no. It as the German PFA that gave him the award.
Just pointing out that though he got fired he did win the Bundersleague the season before.

I agree. However, I have felt for a while that we will part ways harmoniously with LVG in the summer regardless, FA Cup or no.

"This clubs strategy is to bury it's head in the sand really, just a complete shambles."

Or to put it another way, we have no idea what the strategy is because the club, quite rightly, doesn't announce it to the likes of you and me until the appropriate time.

Mainly I think because of the ill thought out abuse that he gets. Some people post an article slating him every day often with puerile comments, personal abuse and refuse to give credit for anything.
Eg we are in a final but only because we had an easy draw. So who knocked out the teams above us?
Some people find it easy to blame him for everything never a players fault or the boards.
I don't think anyone wants him next season, just defending him from some unfair attacks."

Amen to this comment. I am tired of explaining why I defend LVG whilst still consistently stating that he should be sacked in the summer regardless of what we achieve between now and then. It's the same reason I defend Ed and the club in general.

I criticise when it is deserved and defend when it isn't. I don't even find this difficult or controversial in any way. Not sure why some fans don't get this simple concept.

Anyway, regarding the bus shenanigans, I can't say I have ever been on a coach while it was being pelted with missiles so I am not sure how I would react in that situation. Also, I can't identify with this phone culture that we live in at the best of times...Even the hooligans were all holding their phones aloft while they were throwing stuff! I find the whole social media culture so alien and distasteful that I can't really comment objectively on any of it tbh.
