Canelo Ducks GGG, Mayweather's Legacy

Saul Alvarez vacates his WBC Middleweight title, because they have order him to fight the number middleweight in the world, Golovkin, which he doesn't want to do.

This would not have been tolerated a few years ago in boxing, a sport full of machismo, but now the fans accept this, and Canelo will still be the biggest star in boxing and his PR team will spin stories about contracts, how he is a small middleweight, and the fight will happen on his terms because he is the A side.

This is all because of the legacy left behind by Floyd Mayweather, who showed it is OK to duck the best fighters, cherry pick them a the right time and stack the deck in your favor. Floyd done this, got a good PR team around him, played the media and fans and made a load of money.

So when we continue to see boxers duck the big fights and image and fanbase is what matters so you can make the big money, remember it is your fault. You made this climate in boxing we see now

Best thing boxing can do is ridicule Canelo at every turn.

It won't though.. GBP will make sure of that, especially with the Ring and it's writers in their pocket.

It's when fighters shamefully duck opponents that they're scared of when boxing is rightfully mocked. For its faults, at least the UFC force the best to fight the best.

The problem with ufc is the best don't fight the best either the best in ufc fight the best in ufc but they're not the only mma entity out there! It was like when manny pacquaio was with top rank all he did was fight top rank fighters not nessalerally the best fighters! Same things happening with PBC fighters now

But the UFC is the pinnacle of mma, hence they snaffle up the best fighters.

They're also hoovering up all the competition as soon as the rival companies grow and pull in better fighters.

Triple G is a Triple Champ now, WBC, WBA and IBF belts he has in his Collection.

The WBA want to consolidate their belts, So hopefully Jacobs will fight GGG or BJS steps up to the plate so the division will be unified.

Canelo will still be the biggest draw in the sport.

The fans made all this possible, these are the same fans getting themselves into a frenzy over Mayweather fighting some UFC guy, whilst some great fights are being made in the sport.

They care little about boxing and just about their chosen fighter.

Remember you are to blame for the state boxing.

I don't know any boxing fan wanting to see mayweather beat Macgregor but casual fans do and ufc fans do and will be the easiest fight of mayweather a career for biggest money out there now it would be stupid not to, I still don't think it will happen and I think they are just using each other's names to stay relevant

Look on boxing forums, they are top fights like Porter vs Thurman and Crawford vs Postol and other top fights that are happening soon. But Mayweather vs McGregor is getting the most posts.

Call them casual fans if you want, but how do you think money is generated for fights.

We have sleepwalked into a world where ducking is now acceptable, and your marketing and PR are just as if not more important than your skills in the ring, and bravery, valor, machismo counts for nothing.

Premature article.

Has Canelo ducked GGG?Maybe. But if they can make the fight then this article will be laughable.

Why not wait to see who both fighters face next before throwing around accusations.

Not so sure that you can call it Mayweather's legacy, though I do agree that his negotiation tactics were shameful, but ducking has been a steadily growing problem since the 80s. I think it's all down to there being far to many titles per weight and too many junior and super weight classes that allow boxers too many excuses.

The sport desperately needs to cut down on the amount of weight classes and establish one World Title per class. Though I doubt that will ever happen.
