Haye Day and the Heavyweights

David Haye returns tonight against the unbeaten Arnold Gjergjaj.

Haye once again will be on Dave being on a none pay channel will help raise his profile among the casual/non boxing sports fans.

Earlier today up and coming New Zealand heavyweight Joseph Parker took the toughest test of his career against Carlos Takam. Took some big shots from Takam but came through the 12 rounds to get the decision and is now Anthony Joshua's mandatory.

Briggs is also fighting tonight the former champ and current mad man looks set for a show down with Haye. Briggs has done nothing but shout his mouth off, but that seems to be enough to get the fans interested in a fight these days.

Pulev, looked good with his win over Chisora. Ortiz looking like a real force. Povetkin career looks to be on ice maybe the Wilder fight happens at a later date, but Wilder needs to fight someone.

What are you predictions for tonight's fights and how do you see the heavyweight scene shaping up, and what match up do you want to see?

Joshua really needs to fight somebody of note soon though.

He's now a world champion, he's never fought even a B level fighter.

Clearly he has punch power, but that's about all he's proved for me.

Showed some skills against Whyte and good discipline to get back on his game plan after the 2nd round.

He has got fast hands, you can see though, if he gets tagged by something big his head will go.

He is a great finisher though.

And here is the problem.

What happens the first time Haye lands?

It would make for a great fight, and it's the one I really hope happens in the HW division.

All this said, it's a bit premature to presume Haye will return to the top of his game.

He's returning from a 4 year lay off, and it's been 7 years since he won the world championship. He was never the most active fighter, and we have no idea whether time has caught up with him just because he's smashed a few cans over.

I hope Brigg's KOs Haye in round 1.

Fury beats everyone at Heavyweight right now anyway,he would make a show of Haye, would be very similar to the Haye Klit fight Haye wouldn't get near him for 12 boring rounds.

You seem to rate Fury very highly. He's been exposed chin wise in the past, and he's never faced someone with Hayes power.

Right now, Fury would have a good chance. But if Haye returns to form I struggle to see how Haye can be dominated by Fury.

Not as fast, not as powerful, foot and head movement not as good.

You don't think Wlad hits as hard or harder than Haye?

In my opinion no. He may have a similar punch power level, but Haye is/was a far more explosive puncher. He hits you with shots you can't see coming.

I see Haye as a more dangerous KO artist than Wlad. Wlad undoubtedly has power of his own, but his slower speed and style mean they have a slightly lesser effect than Hayes power punches.

In my opinion anyway.
