One of the expected departures this summer from Arsenal FC is right back Mathieu Debuchy. A few teams have been linked with him, but it seems Olympique Lyonnais are favourites.
Decent news on its own - but could it lead to more?
Lyon have a few players I think certainly should be on our radar.
Alexandre Lacazette is a possible candidate for the striker role. Nabil Fekir is a very talented attacking player, who can fill the pretty vacant left attacking role in our team (can also play as the striker, or of course, in the central attacking midfield role). Finally, Samuel Umtiti is a young centre back who can add options to options - while also being able to cover at left back.
Lyon have Jallet already, so a bit surprised at the link, but if they do want Debuchy we should try and be a accomadating to their desires as possible - and hopefully smooth things between the clubs that could lead to us pillaging the French side this summer.
Decent news... could lead to better??

Wanted Fekir for a while now but get the feeling if we bring in another AM/Winger we won't get a strike

We won't get a striker anyways so might as well bring someone who can add something to the attack.
Another season with the lamp-post

Also, if we were to sell Debuchy, does that mean Jenkinson is our RB back up?

Reckon Coq will fill in at RB.

Sell them 'Debuchy' then send Giroud

Best idea I've heard this week. We'll part exchange Debuchy + cash for Lacazette and then give them Giroud as a thank you.

Fekir might be easier to get tbh. Apparently has had few clashes with Lyon management because he hasn't featured as much as he hoped since returning from injury.

It's good that we're finally making him captain. We haven't had a playing captain since Van Persie.
That being said, he's a 31-year old with the hamstrings of a 60-year old. We'll definitely need some solid cover for a month or two.
