He's a very good appointment rev I think most forest fans would admit that. Unlike clement or mcclaren he's proven at this level and few would bet against him taking derby up.

You boys on the other hand appear to be going from bad to worse.....

Pearson is on the rebound after being messed about by Villa. He will have a tall order delivering the championship that the Sheep fans will be demanding AGAIN...

Will - you're right in that he isn't as strong without his backroom staff BUT I don't think he needs them here.

I have no doubt that Pearson would not be able to undertake the rebuilding job he did at Leicester on his own - Walsh and Shakespeare were pivotal. But that job isn't needed at derby. They already have the foundations of a very strong side.

What Pearson is brilliant at is man management, creating a hard working ethos and a good team spirit. He doesn't need Walsh and Shakespeare for that and Powell will be a good no.2

It's a perfect fit for Derby - if he had gone to Leeds on the other hand then without his backroom staff he may have struggled. With Derby he needs to make a couple of additions and get those players working for each other. Which he will do
