Which Pros will compete in the Olympics

Professional Boxers have been given the green light to compete in the Olympic games for the first time.

Head guards will also be removed.

The WBC are not happy with this and are threatening to ban any pro competing.

But will the pros hunt for Olympic glory?

Would like to see Pacquiao go and win Gold.

It would also make the Olympic Boxing much more entertaining

People don't get upset with pro tennis players, golfers, basketball players, so why do they get upset about this move?

Dont see many pros making the weight 5 times in a week when many boil down to it and gain 10-20lbs after.

I don't think it's as cut and dry as people here are making out. Firstly as I have said there are definitely some very able Cuban boxers that I think would be able to give the Pro's a hard time and cause a few upsets.

Secondly I don't think it's as easy as people make out to change the mindset from a long 12 round fight to a really fast paced 3 round fight. Lot's of pro fighters start out relatively slow and gradually build up into the fight. The recent Canelo vs Khan fight is a pretty good example of that. It took Canelo a few rounds to weather the storm and get his range as well as get the instructions to go for body shots. All this is a luxury that you don't have in the 3 round format that amateurs are used to.

I'm not saying that the amateurs will have all the advantages but I certainly don't think someone like Canelo could just turn up and get gold either.

Amateur boxing still have their championships and other events. And this will be good to see how the best from each formats get on.
