....so we don't upset the balance according to our all knowing Manager.
It really does beg the question; exactly what balance are we protecting?
The balance that has seen us not win the league in 12 years or coming second to a team featuring three good players and cast of journey men the past season; or indeed the balance of the listless, uninspiring footy we served up last season?
We desperately need a striker, a centre half and a wide forward. What is the situation with our support players at full backs; what if Gibbs and Debuchy leave for playing time.?
This is the kind of statement that grates me about Wenger . He never learns. He actually does believe he is the smartest manager out there but time and time again his lack of investment in the squad and paying little attention to effective squad building has turned out to be his undoing .
Pep will overhaul his squad at Mancity, it will not upset no balance and City will challenge ; ditto for the vile Portuguese at old toilet.
If anything it is your rumoured extension that will unbalance the squad and fan base going into next season Mr Wenger. Please quit the banal punditry at the Euros, get into action and get the players the squad needs, win the league and earn that extension !
Rant over.
Two more players....

Walcott worth £15m and Sturridge £20m. So we owe you £5m...where does £25m comes from?

Actually you put £20m
Jesus wept. This board is brilliant at times.

You talk about the possibility of us winning the league without needing to add a wide forward, yet name six players from our current squad of whom one, maybe two of them - Iwobi and Wilshere - who offer genuine alternatives to Sanchez.
Probably best to pipe down questioning other posters' intelligence on this subject then, matey.

Does anyone has a link to the interview Wenger talked about 2 more signings?

Ive been saying for a few years now, the spine is the priority.
We had Coq come through and have added Xhaka so CM is ok with plenty of numbers.
We have Ozil and others can play at CAM so ok there.
Our defence only conceded one more goal that the best in the league, so although they are a year older I dont think that is our top priority. Jenkinson will come back and with Chambers will provide barely adequate, but it will be adequate, cover at RB.
Wide forwards are well catered for, particularly with Iwobi and Campbell showing they can do an ok job on top of existing options of Sanchez, Welbeck, Walcott, Ramsey, Santi and Wilshere when required. Note I left out Ox and Walcott needs to be free of injury affecting his play.
Striker is where we need to concentrate. A consistent top striker would make the biggest improvement in the team. Giroud not sdcoring in 17 games between January and May was a huge contributing to our failing to win the league. With a decent striker with pace making runs our wide players can find I expect we will return to the faster paced counter attacking style that won us trophies. I've had enough of letting defences get back in position and defend and then try to break them down.

There is a lot of evidence to suggest that massive squad overhauls of 5 or 6+ players going in and out does not lead to immediate success, or even improvement from the previous season. Ignoring that, there is no way Arsenal need to do anything like that. 2 more top class additions, and replacements for any high profile outgoings where necessary, should easily be enough to compete.
I doubt Pep will be going as mad in the transfer window as some think, likewise Conte. Mourinho might but then the United squad is much worse than ours and it doesn't matter who he buys he'll have them playing boring negative football anyway.

We need 2-4 players. CF and CB we need badly. Wide forward and a left back we arguably need although not desperately. We already have decent options there.

When the window opened we needed a striker and possibly a centre back (although I would like to think Chambers is ready for far more game time, like others his age such as Stones are getting). That is two more players.

It's obvious to anyone with a modicum of intelligence that we need a couple of world class additions to win the league rather than complete overhaul which as experience shows is far more to disrupt us. If it is beyond your comprehension then perhaps nothing can be done to help you.

It's obvious to anyone with a modicum of intelligence that we won't win the league under Wenger. Condescension usually works better when you're not constantly getting made to look stupid by wrong predictions.
