Lex is an ITK. If he says we are signing Draxler, that means we are signing Draxler

Mahrez or Drexler? both are quality.

Mahrez who is PL proven or Draxler who had a good game against Slovakia?

My understanding is that we need a CF, right?

Based on last season? I'd probably say no and it is just one of those old cliches people like to keep talking about.
I know Gabriel has looked suspect at time but we only conceded one more goals than the best defense in the league (Spurs?). So if we need a new CB, then 18 more teams also need new CB.
Plus, with the arrival of Xhaka, I hope we will be more stable defensively now.

Based on neither Mertesacker or Gabriel being good, people keep talking about it because Wenger never addresses it. Not sure I agree with your logic there regarding Spurs considering their collapse at the end of the season, conceded 5 in the last game. From what I've seen so far Xhaka while aggressive isn't great defensively.

While I agree Mert needs to be replaced, it is not like he was a guaranteed started last season. He only made 22 appearances in the league.
Spurs have probably collasped at the end of the season, we did ours mid season like we always do (United away, Southampton, etc...).
And don't forget, we also have had the most cleansheet in the league.

If a new CB comes, then that is great. But I think we have more important issue. We scored much less than the like of Leicester, Spurs and City which to me need to be addressed first.
