With less than a week before the start of the new season, it's fair to say that most Evertonians will be underwhelmed at the clubs transfer dealings so far this summer. Despite promises of £100million to spend, plus whatever we raised in sales, optimism at the club was high.
So far, four players have come in (Gueye, Renshaw, Sambou and Stekelenburg) and four have left (Hibbert, Osman, Pienaar and Howard). That's a young striker, midfielder and two goalkeepers (one 18 years old) to replace a defender who rarely ever played, two midfielders and a goalkeeper way past their best. On paper, I'd say that was a decent bit of business, and it is. But every day we see reports of Stoke, Palace, etc bidding 15-30 million pounds for players.
Market values are inflated because of the TV money, but it's still disappointing that we seem to be making the same mistakes again, leaving our business till the last minute.
Keeping the above in mind, I'd like to know who you'd want us to bring in and move out over the next three weeks. Personally, if the rumoured deal for Begovic, Remy and £60-65million for Lukaku is on the table I'd take it, but I doubt it is.

You should just put in a silly bid for Danny Drinkwater and get it wrapped up inside 24 hours.

I've not suggested that. My point was that it's galling to see clubs around us, clubs we should be showing more ambition than, making their signings now while we seem to be having the same issue as every year.
