What's he worth?

Out of interest with all the posters saying how over priced Pogba is, what would you value him at?

Keep in mind we have had a transfer window in which Higuain cost £75m Sane £37m, Renato Sanches over £40m.

There are more factors to a players value than just current ability. I know a lot of people on here don't like nuance in debate however. A few things that affect players transfer fee.

Ability - the most important

Age - a player performing at a high lever in his early 20s still has potential to be even better therefore will command a higher fee than someone older with similar or even higher level of performance. This can tie into other areas like sell on value. ie if Pogba performs well then if he does got o Real his value will only increase.

Need - For years United have been crying out for a commanding central midfield prescence. Real and Barca already have an abundance of CMs that suit how they wish to play. It stands to reason that a player like Pogba is worth more to them than those other two clubs and will be willing to pay more.

Marketability - I know the purists don't like this one but regardless it is the reality of the game. Pogba is a very marketable player in terms, he can sell things. How many kids will be begging their parents for the new United shirt with Pogba -6 on the back? Juve will have lost this when he is finally sold it is taken into calculations when discussing a fee. If Ronaldo wasn't so marketable he would not have commanded a record fee at the time.

Of course there are other factors such as injury record, attitude etc. to take into account.

So, what's he worth?

He's a 60m player for me. That said, it looks like we may make him the club's flagship player in a way that we haven't really done before, so I can see why we are prepared to pay more.

Imagine Juve’s position. They are selling their most valuable and marketable asset.

They therefore want to mitigate commercial losses as much as possible, regardless of Pogba’s ability.

But they've got Higuain now and going on his appearance yesterday hell tap into the fat market and make them millions.

What signing on fee do you think Madrid will give him when he moves on a free again?

It'll be an insane amount.

Juve could have Messi on their books.

However they will contend (as would any club) it’s irrelevant to Pogba’s value when negotiating his sale with United.

He's worth the money man Utd paid. They'll see.

just me or does anyone else feel Juve are idiots for selling Pogba for jsut 10mil more than what they paid for Higuain

Higuain who's 29 in a few months and was deemed worse than Benzema at Real just 2 seasons ago...

50 - 60m

Would be happy to sign him on an initial fee of that rising to 100m if he delivered.

Not an issue whatsoever with a set up of that nature
