Not a big club

We have never been a "big club" and we need to escape from the mindset that we are one and "deserve" to be promoted.

Were a big club, problem is are not a good one. Its not size that makes a difference, its how many times you stick the ball in the back of the net, ala Bournemouth. Dull, Stoke etc

People with little knowledge or understanding of the history of Leeds commenting. Leeds had a great team in the 60s and 70s however we were not a big club. When Leeds were promoted in 1965 it was predicted they would go straight back down to division 2. What Leeds achieved was actually an underdog story, not one of a huge powerful club as it is often portrayed. And the successes of that decade were a total aberration. Leeds have spent 34 years outside the top flight since the war - that is the norm, why should we expect anything different? Even during the Ridsdale era despite spending huge amounts of money, Leeds did not actually win any trophies. That was because we did not have the internal technical and logistical capacity to mount a successful trophy winning campaign, in layman's terms we are not a big club

Yeah, big clubs are never known throughout the world.

Big clubs never have fans of other clubs recalling their players from 40 years ago.

Big clubs never have other fans constantly singing about them....

"Even during the Ridsdale era despite spending huge amounts of money, Leeds did not actually win any trophies. That was because we did not have the internal technical and logistical capacity to mount a successful trophy winning campaign, in layman's terms we are not a big club"

What a load off crap!..

This my club is bigger than your club stuff is a load off bollox because off the simple reason to every fan off every club their club is the biggest!..

But what you've written there is for the toilet, in fact I think it'd make one hell off a mess!..

Leeds United under Ridsdale had a hell off a team, they managed the semis in the Champions League, that was one hell of a fate considering the age of the team, it was a very young side!..

As far the "Leeds did not actually win any trophies. That was because we did not have the internal technical and logistical capacity to mount a successful trophy winning campaign" goes, I think you'll find the money was there but when you give the likes of Ferdinand and Yeboah and the rest of them open cheques that money has to be clawed back, and with better people at the helm that money might have been invested more wisely!..

The downfall was planning for Champions League football and failing to get it, Leeds were a force to be reckoned with but Ridsdale got it wrong and player's bled what they could out off you could say a dying Peacock!..

The Premier have some big clubs, but to me none are as big as mine!.

Might be a big club, might not be, but one thing I do know is we are one of England's most famous, think Jonty sums it up above, MOT

Something else that Leedsforever......forgot to mention, is the games Leeds were robbed out off like the all famous Paris game, and if I'm not mistaken at least one more in Europe, and a game against was it WBA?...that lost us the league title!..

If those games had ended fairly, that would have put your "did not actually win any trophies" theory to bed, it's a shame but sometimes it's unfair to be on the losing end!..

Leedsforever- you've put together some very eloquent words and well structured arguments of which the the sum total still completely misses the point. When we hit the top we hit big it time and with style and the result is a lasting legacy and history that cannot be ignored or denied. As I have constantly said we are the one club that if things somehow start going our way, can and eventually will make the rest, including the so called big boys sit up and take notice. WE HAVE DONE IT BEFORE AND WE WILL ONE DAY DO IT AGAIN - MOT!
