Anybody remember him having to make a save far this season?
Anyway, we Certainly won't be as reliant on him this season as we have in the last 2 or 3 in which I believe he has been voted our player of the year.

You know when LVG had no chance when the opposition outshot us once at OT in 29 home matches last season and we doubled the opposition in shots at home. I think we also broke a PL record for least shots on target against at home due to mainly the 90% territorial possession we had at home games and then called boring negative defensive.
Then again press are so dumb in LVG first season they branded us an aimless hoofball team despite us having the highest pass completion percentage in the league. They also said in first season end of season review DDG singlehandedly stopped Man Utd getting embarrassed facing a barrage of shots yet it was the least shots against in premierleague. Hoofball side had highest pass completion rate percentage. Team that sit back all game had highest territoral percentage domination. Teams that had no chance against big teams topped the table for the big games in LVG first season.
Our problem was it took to long to discover Rashford. If Rashford played from start of season we would have walked the league.

He made a couple of really good saves against Bournemouth. Don't remember anyone testing him in that Southampton game.
.....
I think his first action was those couple of saves in last minute otherwise he would have had 0 saves.

He has showed previously, under SAF, Moyes, and LvG that he can be called upon when he hasn't had much to do, no worries there at all.
The last three years, it hasn't been so much that he's won it, but he was the clear favourite in every season, the standout choice, which tells us everything.

I would be extremely shocked if DDG league wise has less to do then last season. I expect more action against our goal and to allow for more counterattacks. The problem with LVG was everyone had sussed us out play an 8-1-1 formation and make Jose Inter Milan that parked the plane at Nou Camp look an attacking team and then the same side that attacks gets called negative.

We have played chit teams so far, less wait until we play a good team before bragging too much

So what? Southampton have lost their best players, they will probably finish just about relegation zone this year.
Saying that I am sure we are a better team than last year and will have a better season , but I dont think we have looked great so far, but importantly got points

Cantona 7 De Gea joint 16th on saves. If LVG was in charge they would have awarded DDG 2 MOTM and a 9 or 10 rating.
