We are going nowhere without a quality midfield and how much does a classy midfielder cost nowadays £10 million just ask Eddie Howe.

I don't care about a midfielder being classy. All I want is someone to get the job done. I don't think you have to spend big to get good players and I don't think all the signings of the last few years have been essentially bad.

Lubo - the point I was trying to make is that we sell a decent, and on his day extremely effective midfielder and do not replace with like or better. In my book not a recipe for success.

And I agree a lot of the signings on paper have looked reasonable ones. My issue is that we seem to not be able to get these players playing consistently at any one time. Sum total no better than 13th.

I am mystified, as I alluded to on another thread how the club manages to get decent players to stall quite quickly.

Dave is essentially a reasonable player and although we have seen very little of late so is Murphy, yet for one reason or another the club are asking these two to move on.

Now I don't know what the answer is but is it the players fault, the Managers or the Unmentionable one?

Whatever the reason, it has to be dealt with fast otherwise we will be falling through the trap door again which for a club with our support and history is just plain unacceptable.

I would say our five best not homegrown players in the championship have been Ross, Becchio, Grade, Snodgrass and Warnock. How much did we spend on Snodgrass and Grade? How much did we spend on Ross?

You don't need to sign players for 8 mill, you just need to sign the right players.

"You don't need to sign players for 8 mill, you just need to sign the right players."

One thing letting us down big time there, and that's the fact that you need someone in place that knows those types of player's!..

Everybody knows there are player's out there, but why would they come to us on less money when they can go elsewhere on more and get the praise that they deserve instead of being dragged through the mill when the coach is forced to take the blame for not getting the best out of what's put in front of him?..

The coach needs backing, and backing is players that can do the job they're there to do, something we just cant seem to cope with!..

A coach also needs time. Many of the managers we have had have brought in not so great players that they think they can make good. The root problem here is sacking managers too quickly and nor letting players settle.

Everybody knows the coach needs time, but someone should be whispering that softly with a pneumatic drill in the bossmanagers ear, the root problem is the standard off player being brought in and the "coach" being told to make it work!..

How much say do you reckon the coach has on who comes in?..

I wonder if they are his player's because like some have said some are his x-player's, but I'd love to be a fly on the wall when him and his bossmanager are discussing the players the bossmanager wants and how he wants it doing!..

You can't flog your best, bring cheap in, and beat this league!..

But you can bleed the club and from the outside in that's what seems to be happening!..

Do you think that Cellino made Rosler and Monk sign the players he did? These players need the time to gel with a single system, then they would do better?

Lubo, you wasn't by any chance one of them sat on a train drinking a nice tin of cell gift was you?..

Do you honestly think coaches of the past and those of the future have a say on player's in and out?..

Out, the best player's this club has, not just one or two, but all!..

In, loans and the cheapest he can get his mitts on, odd isn't it that he's got a lot more for our future player's than he's given out!..

Where's it all gone I wonder?..

The coach, he might have a word or two to say, but Cellino will get who he want's and stuff the coach,(unless whoever the coach suggests comes within his way of thinking!)

"Do you think that Cellino made Rosler and Monk sign the players he did?"

Nope not at all, he signed them not the coaches!..

You can say all you want about player's gelling and getting it together, why don't you ask what others have?..

Why not quality over quantity?..

I've a feeling you ain't got a clue, but hey, on the long run it would save a hell of a lot money and help this club move the way it should!..

It seems Cellino ain't the only one around here that don't want that!.
