Morning gents,
In just over 48 hours, the two giants of Scottish Football will come head to head once more.
For Celtic fans it's a chance to exact revenge for the embarrassing defeat to Rangers on penalties back in April. It is also a chance to lay down a marker, to put ourselves in a strong position to retain the title at such an early stage in the season, 4 points clear with a game in hand over our closest rivals.
For Rangers fans it's about measuring if the team has improved on last season. There have been a lot of new additions to the Rangers squad, 11 to be exact I believe, some would say it takes time to bed these guys in and some will say they will click eventually but ultimately there have only been 2 real starts from the new additions so far this season, Joey Barton and Jordan Rossiter. The likes of Miller, McKay, Tavernier, Waghorn etc. are all still there.
Early team news for Celtic suggests that Leigh Griffiths & Kieran Tierney are both fit for the game and are expected to start the match, the one concern at this stage is how Mikael Lustig is when he reports to Lennoxtown today.
For Rangers the likes of Waghorn & Windass are all short of match fitness but Waghorn will be expected to start the game having played some part in their 7-0 win over Linfield.
The mouth is watering, the nerves are kicking and erses are going like a trumpet just waiting for that whistle to blow for kick off in the first league meeting between these two sides in over 4 years.

LOL. Robbie Keane, one of the best international goal scoring records of all time,played for Celtic, Inter Milan, Tottenham ,Liverpool, Aston Villa, LA Galaxy,Leed UTD ,West ham and was a success wherever he went. A genuine star.
Kevin Thomson ,whose career was effectively over at 29 and played for , err, Rangers, Dundee, Hibs and Middlesbrough. And not very well for Middlesbrough and not even in the top English division if memory serves..
Never mind though we can always be utterly small minded and parochial by remembering his tackle umpteen years ago on Robbie Keane,lol. Welcome back Rangers fans, we have missed you.
