Arsenal was once renowned for being a great passing team, dominating possession and often criticised for always trying to score the perfect goal. Then in a couple of significant games (one against Man City away and Bayern Munich at home), we seemed to abandon the possession based game and won by 2 - 0 by hitting the opposition on the counter attack.
Recently stats show that we do not dominate the possession like we used to. To add to this, IMO since the beginning of the season, I have noticed that our passing is not as slick as it used to be, highlighted by some of the simplest passes going astray. With this in mind, I would like to know from fellow Gooners, Do Arsenal still deserve the accolade of being a great passing team?

Under AW its been two general styles...
first it was pacey counter attacking football, then moved onto smaller players keeping possession and a passing game.
The first style was best and should be returned.

But the first style still needs slick, careful passing. Fast counter attacks are at their best with technical players. Just look at the legends match. All in their forties with their legs gone and look what they can still do:

Our style is basically a continuation of the warm up. There is no urgency, no nous in making the right run or picking the right pass or being clinical in front of goal. It's all slow slow and then get a nose bleed in front of goal or give it back to their defenders once you reach their penalty box. This has got to be one of the worst Arsenal teams I have seen for a long time and I watched them in the 80s.
