This is no way meant to criticise him just stating my opinions which is mostly what i felt before he joined us. I would like to hear what your opinion are, have they changed?
I think jose is a great manager but as many know I did not want him as utd manager.But many feel he was the only one capable of bringing short term success to the club and was worth us sacrificing any so called philosophy we held as a club.
I didn't, and only 5 games in I am even more convinced of this tho I hope I am made to look silly in June. My reasoning being we are sacrificing the long term future of the club in chase of short term success and to me pep >> jose. our only hope was a stuttering start by pep or his players but that is not happening. Bearing that in mind it will prove a futile sacrifice we have made. And 2 years down the line might find ourselves truly in city's shadows and nothing to show for the sacrifice we have made.

The worry is why we still need to get so many players playing minutes. Fitness and stamina should be worked on in training.

In a way I'd consider tonight similar to a pre season game. It was all about getting players minutes and the result wasn't overly important. Of course we want to win every game but our season will not be judged on the Europa league that's for sure.
Imo it was probably more beneficial to give these players game time tonight and lose rather than play the same players we have been playing and winning.

Our manager made 8 changes even though it's still September and the players have hardly had a chance to be tired after 4 games. He also basically said yesterday that we dont want to be in it but we are.
The message that sends to the players and fans is wrong and look what happens.

So Feyenoord players won't make your 2nd XI but your team costing 300m can't break down a team that's supposed to be as good as Sunderland. And we didn't even park the bus. Because of match fitness.

Whilst I am no fan of the man and never wanted him at the club, it is too early to start panicking
He's a winner and hopefully has not lost his spark
I however like you am very concerned about the legacy he will leave behind in year 3 when he implodes as usual

Jose comes across so tame, or either going through the motions, at the moment.
Maybe that might come with time or maybe his mess up with Chelsea,especially the Eva situation,really has tamed the beast within.

Had he not done so he might have been facing a mutiny already. we have a large squad, bigger than Jose himself would like as he does not care for rotation in the PL.
Basically, Jose needs to use these games to blood the squad players and he has talked of the need to do so, how the Europa and League Cup games can't come soon enough etc. He knows that he has fringe players getting restless and he needs to bring them into the fold to avoid alienating half of his squad.
At the end of the day, most of these players won't be involved at the weekend so they really had to treat this game like a cup final regardless - and they didn't.
