Phil Jones or Rooney. What a quagmire.

The amount of grief I'd get if we signed Jones, I love giving him loads to united fans, pity they now all think he's crap and don't get angry like they used to.

He's been very unlucky though with the injuries, we dodged a bullt there but we all wanted him at the time.

I believe Arsenal wanted him as well.

Imagine how inured he'd be if he'd signed for them

First it was Depay and now Jones. Next we get be linked with another United flop someone like Pogba.

I'd rather buy Baresi at 65.

Pogba is such a strange buy! For all that money and you can clearly see he still isn't anywhere near the finished product. He is not a defensive minded midfielder. It's okay to play him in a midfield 3 and have him the furthest forward. However, at this stage, he can't play in a midfield 2. Doesn't seem to want to track back as it negates his attacking side. This would be fine is he was bought for 20-40 million. But we are talking about record sums. For that, I would expect a finished product that can deliver now and build a team around.

I'm sure he will come good eventually but he needs time to improve with plenty of support from his manager, team and UTD fans, but because of his pricetag he isn't going to get that time.

I agree. With time he will improve and be important for United but that's a certainty surely because the performances have been way less than average. As a rival fan I'm not worried about what he will/could become.

Chandler Von Matterhorn -

I tend to feel that the signing of Pogba was done more as a statement of intent by United to show everyone that they are still the world's biggest club. It wasn't a signing that I think United really put a great deal of thought into.
