Marco You could ask how many games have we won without Thorne and Martin. We don't seem to be winning many at the moment. As I have always said it is players that win games and players that lose games but some think that the way you write them down on a piece of paper is the most important thing.

Pearson was a good centre-half so you would think he would recognise the qualities needed. I haven't seen enough of Bamba to know if he is good enough but I do think the formation is an option. To the Sparts of this world who don't believe in formations it won't mean anything but it was noticeable in Chelea's game at Arsenal how much more competitive they were when they played that way. With any system you need the right players. If not Bamba, could three of Keogh, Pearce, Shackell and Rawson play that way? Is Shackell genuinely injured by the way? Haven't head much about him.

Some of the supposed "ITK's" say Shackell won't play another game for Derby. Hanson & Baird are surely capable of playing as one of 3 CB's too I would think. Real shame Fozzy isn't available, who would be another option providing balance as the left side of a 3.
