Mike Towell passed away tonight in hospital after a bout on Thursday night in which he was seriously injured. He was only 25 and this was his 13th fight.
I don't know much about him, and never seen him fight, but this tragic incident is a reminder on how brutal the sport is and the dangers of stepping into the squared circle. The British boxing fraternity should come together and support his family and pay tribute to a fallen comrade.
Does the health and safety of professional bouts need to be looked at again?

You think the would have full medical checks on boxers before bouts.
They are calls again to ban boxing. And boxing needs to learn to prevent this from happening again.

Boxing might as well be banned - it's DEAD. Nobody cares for boxing now it's all about the UFC
