Its laughable how current results apparently prove we wont win the league.
We won 2-1 at home to West Brom and yes it may not have been convincing remember last season's champs drew 2-2 at home to West Brom and at the end were lucky not to lose. United also stuttered to victories at home to the likes of Stoke and Wigan similar to the Norwich match.
United in 08/09 won the league by a series of 1-0 wins against mid table clubs. We stuttered to wins against Birmingham and Southampton in Jose's first season, while Arsenal (off the back of going unbeaten the season before) started like a steam train. Beating a Everton side (IMO better than this current Spurs side) 4-1 away.
City may have won 5-1 at WHL but remember 15 years ago we went one better and won 6-1 but did not qualify for the CL, we beat Man.United 5-0 also in a season we didnt qualify for the CL. So if we can win 6-1 at WHL and 5-0 at home to United and not win the league, hows City winning 5-1 at proof they will wipe the floor with us?
We won 4-1 at The Emirates when they had a full team out, so pound for pound a 4-1 away win with their full team out if just as good as a 8-2 home win against their sticken B/C side if not better, where did we finish the season we won 4-1 at The Emirates? yep thats right 3rd.
Just a reminder to everyone that it was 3 points City and United won last weekend not the world cup, and their get as many points when they struggle to a 1-0 win to a midtable team at some point this season.
its only August

04/05, first season under Mourinho, and one in which we broke the PL points record. Here were the opening performances :
United (H) 1-0 win
Birmingham (A) 1-0 win
Palace (A) 2-0 win
Southampton (H) 2-1 win
Villa (A) 0-0 draw
Spurs (H) 0-0 draw
Boro (A) 1-0 win
Liverpool (H) 1-0 win
City (A) 0-1 lost
Every single one of those games we were unconvincing. There's a strong lesson in there for anyone righting us off after three games.
