1 win in 6 and going backwards

So after 9 games this season we have:

5 fewer points
2 fewer goals scored (there goes that myth)
4 more goals conceded
and are 4 places worse off than last season.

This after spending 150m net on players and keeping the previous squad together. In addition, new players from last season have bed in and we have young talent (ie Rashford and Martial) with the world at their feet.

Those stats indicate strong progress, don't they? . Bet all those who didn't give us a moment rest last season to get Maureen in most be loving this no? Some would like to deflect this on the players (everyone takes some blame) but stats show a weaker squad doing better last season. This falls squarely on the manager. He was given EVERYTHING he asked for and has given us next to nothing in return. No one can convince we we are better off with Maureen!

This is currently an utter shambles... there are no other words for it!

We have no playing style, no identity and no passion. Any last remnants of the soul our football side were eviscerated by the appointment of Maureen.

We've made our bed and such...

So what's the way forward?

We have have a decent run of games after City on Wed. and this is what I think we need.

1. Rashford must start and start central (this must the millionth time I've posted this on here ). Any mug with half a brain can see this... Not so Maureen.

2. Mkhi and Martial have to be in the starting line up, not wasting on the bench or playing as auxillary FBs.

3. Bastian needs to be reintegrated into the squad. Why deprive ourselves of a great leader on big wages when we lack leaders?

4. Pogba needs a wake up call... A few games on the bench or a roasting from the manager, whatever works. I don't really like the guy but he's much better than what we've seen till now... I think .

5. We've been lucky till now with injuries but they've started to arrive (there goes another myth). Our best player is out for God knows how long as are Fellaini and Rooney. But this gives us a chance to be more adventurous. Our creative players like Carrick and Mata can't be languishing on the bench while we struggle to score goals.

Rant over... for now!!!

So do we sack him then? And continue to have a revolving door policy every year where a new manager comes in and doesn't want half the players the previous manager bought? Where is that going to get us?

We have to stick with somebody eventually. 9 games might be a little early (of course it is) to be hitting the panic button over Jose.

He clearly doesn't rate Schweini, Schneiderlin, Depay and god only knows whats happening with Shaw and Mikhitaryan. Pogba too who looks nothing like the mot expensive player in the world.

We have to be more patient as fans but that's not going to happen is it?

I can see us getting a drubbing on Wednesday too. It's going to get worse before it gets better.

Only 6 points off the top in a league where everyone seems to drop points regularly. Hardly time to hit the panic button,

Most teams are dropping points but United are worse than most for this, 16th in the form table. They need to buck their ideas up or they will be getting cut adrift very soon. It's already a five point gap to 5th place.

If I remember correctly, it was around November time that our season completely collapsed last year.

To try and make a direct comparison with this time last year is a complete manipulation of the stats.

I don't think I've seen Jose get such bad results in bigger games before.

1 point from City, Liverpool and Chelsea scoring one goal in the three games.

Fixtures looking hard all of a sudden. Swansea away then Arsenal at home. Less than four points there and people will start to ask questions.

May only be the league cup but Jose could do with beating City on Wednesday.

the problem with that argument though is how much damage does someone failing cause, and how long is it acceptable to allow them to continue failing... the modern game rightly or wrongly, demands instant success or you can end up like Milan/Inter/Liverpool... or us even.

I wanted Jose, but I've a really bad feeling about things... have done from the City game tbh (he set the team up wrong, got the formation wrong... then seemed to blame certain players instead).

Its far early to be talking about sacking him etc... but tbh I've seen little or nothing so far to feel with any enthusiasm that things will turn round any time soon.

The most positive thing to have happened is Rooney finally being dropped... and we still look clueless

Chelsea could have persisted with Jose given him some money to spend, and then we could have given him money to spend in the summer.

Would we have been better off? No, because we saw the kind of squad he wanted to build. Whats worse is that he seems like he has no tactical solutions to problems anymore. Compare him with Conte, who had a rocky few games but decided to change the formation and tactics to suit the players more.

Mourinho forces his players to fit his system, but what is strange is that does his sides even have a system or style anymore? At least when LVG was forcing players to do a job, it was fit his philosophy of football. With Jose can anymore tell why he is playing Rashford as a winger?

Ibra is a liability at the moment as well, massively slows down the play, goes wondering meaning he is positionally poor and doesn't put in a shift unlike the rest of the players.

It's a mess. Jose needs to start again and let his crrative players have a little freedom, join the modern erase and let his players press the ball.

Rashford and Lingard at fullback everytime Chelsea had the ball yesterday, it's embarrassing.

Fergie is proving to be right more and more often now he's gone. Pogba is a joke, Jose is not United material and Rooney should have been shipped.

I was furious yesterday and I still aim.

Where's the strategy?

Does Jose have any idea what he wants the team to look like? Because I sure as sheet don't see it.

There are more problems that I could list on one page.

We might only be six points off the top but we might as well be sixty points off for the way we're playing - we're a world away from competing.

Would be interesting to compare his performance with Moyes as that was used a lot to criticise the former manager
