Kenny Jackett liked and trusted Sam Ricketts after working with him at Swansea and brought him in to do very well for us in that first season. Mourinho has signed Carvalho three times, Redknapp has signed Defoe three times, while Warnock has signed Paddy Kenny a whopping five times.
It isn't unusual for managers to bring in players who have previously done very well for them and, if done right, they can provide a good link to new players and help lead the way in quickly understanding and implementing a new system and methods.
So my question is, does anyone know if Lambert has his own Ricketts who we could expect to see rock up in January?

Have to say rotation was not something I would criticise Zenga for. Very easy to say play the best players but if you asked 20 Wolves fans what our best 11 is you would probably get at least 15 different answers. And as a new manager how do you conclude who your best players are if you don't play most of them

Thank goodness PL has recognized that he has too big a squad. Let's get back to 23/4 which is more manageable and clear out those who don't come up to scratch.

Frustratingly Stearman could have been the 'next' Craddock for us and had just had a great season alongside Batth often being the real leader on the pitch but for reasons we will never ever understand we then sold him.

What sort of Wolves supporter are you? He was sold for footballing reasons. Keep up, man.

Most ridiculous squad decision we have made for several years.

Look I know the bloke is Scottish but I don't think we should be commenting on his health issues. I mean it looks to me like he can walk ok.

spangles, I was being sarcastic with the simple comment. Obviously it is difficult to pick the best team and each team needs to be tactically specific to face particular opponents. That's why it is a difficult job. Zenger it seems though was clueless.

Bully - Although I think most people were supportive of Zenga as an affable guy that they wanted to succeed it was always difficult to get out of the mind that his cv was so poor it was a miracle he got the job in the first place. Add to that it was an agent not Zenga or anyone else in the club that was deciding what players we bought in, it would have been a surprise if all that came together as something that worked.
I do think we did manage to bring in some players with ability and it will be interesting to now see how much improvement in team performance we can get from this squad now we have made a more sensible choice of manager. I suspect we can get a fair bit of improvement but I also expect Lambert will have a bit of a clear out and also bring in some players in Jan he will have had his eye on for when he got back into management

^agree. I am convinced we have not yet seen the best out of costa, teixera, bodivarsson and cavaleiro but we have seen glimpses of brilliance! apologies for spelling.

Zenga was a panic decision and not a long thought out one I imagine.
We know he wasn't first choice and I doubt he was second or third choice.
