No chance.

Couldn't even have been the best of his generation if he'd had 'it'.

His peak was probably from about 1994-1998? Ronaldo was tearing up Europe for a couple of those years and he was far younger...

I think you would enjoy it.

And I think you would be surprised how much your memory is underplaying his genius.

Watched the video.....

My original opinion still stands.

Fine. Thanks for watching it, and I hope you enjoyed it.

For me, there are probably 2 goals on there that I think no other footballer of the last 40 years would have scores, and another couple than probably one a couple of players (maradonna and gascoigne) miht have scored.

But that's opinion for you

Watch Ronaldo highlights, some of the goals he scored were arguably more special.

No player since has been so quick, strong, gifted with their feet and flair

Appreciate your comment Edin.

Completely agree that Ronaldo is the better footballer.

Theyve both got vision, movement etc.

But Ronaldo's far faster, far, far stronger, by far the better athlete. He also probably has a wider range of tricks than le tissier, which he's often used to goal scoring effect.

In terms of pure football technique though, imo Ronaldo is a step down from Le Tissier, in both dead ball striking and open play.

Aside from scoring 48 out of 49 pens, lookat the free kick on that video at around 1.40. I doubt there's ever been a better free kick, and that was with the old ball. It's simply unbelievable.

Ronaldo obviously can beat players one on one with ease, but look at the le tiss goals at 2.40,2.50 and 5.50. The last one he beats about 6 players with close control in a mud bath, and in the first two, as well as incredible shots, his close control looks like a magic trick it's so incredible. I've never seen ronaldo ghost past players with such incredible close control that it looks like it's tied to his boot.

So for me, if le tiss couldve become the athelete ronaldo could - even if he could never have matched his pace - i think he could have been the better player.

Le Tissier was a natural footballer but let his nghts out with his mates get the better of him.

I live down south and went for a night out in southampton in the 90s. Great night went to get a kebab afterwards. Le Pissier was in there shat faced and smoking.

What I don't get here is the mention of Cantona among a list of really great players. Massively overrated, it's all very well striking that arrogant Gallic waynker pose when he just scored against the likes of Sheff Wed but his record at the top level is pretty average.
Always went missing in Eropean games
