You can't stop during your run-up, he got booked for unsporting behaviour.

Still don't think it's as bad as the Henry Pires one. I was gutted that didn't work as it's something I'd wanted to see tried for years, but they couldn't have ballsed it up more unless Pires had poked Henry's eye out and then pooed himself.

What were Pires and Henry actually trying to do? Can the penalty taker set up another player like that? Is that allowed?

He tried to lay it off for Pires to come in, walk it forwards a couple of yards and slide it in but it all went belly up when Henry grazed it with his studs and Pires didn't realise he'd touched it.

Typical Arsenal, always trying to walk the ball in to the back of the net

I think Cruyff and someone else did the Henry / Pirez thing...only successfully. I think that's where they got the idea.

Cruyff said something after the game similar to "It was a cold, day and the fans deserved some entertainment".

In theory it turns a missable penalty in to a tap-in but they managed to do it so badly that no-one will ever try it again. If it had worked we might have seen loads of people trying it

(god knows how c. ronaldo gets away with it all these years).

i dont think he actually stops entirely, just slows down, which is allowed.

I think the rule is you can't take a "fake shot" so actually swinging your foot. Seems a bit of a grey area.
