1.He wanted to leave you because he wasn't getting played.
2.He wants to leave City because he is sick of the city Manchester.
So even though both you and City were/are paying him over £100,000 a week, he still wants to leave.

His hypocrisy is matched only by his avarice, and his avarice is almost matched by his arrogance...
He is clearly doing everything he can to work his exit from City.
For all his supposed rapport with fans wherever he goes, his disrespect for clubs and managers is astounding.
City appear to have the same problem as Chelsea; their top players have a relationship with the owners which sideline the managers and undercut their authority.
