I have just played through the resident evil demo, I have had it for a while now but didnt bother with it as you couldn't play it in VR.
Well after an update last night the VR option has been enabled, have to say the graphics are impressive and VR takes the experience to a whole new level, I dont scare easy so coped with the demo well enough, only thing that startled me was a mannequin falling over unexpectedly, but if you want the ultimate Resi experience VR is the way to go.

I might add that I might have got motion sick, but thanks to my time with Robinson the Journey, walking around didnt affect me. This game might be the one that beats Batman as my favourite VR game when it arrives in January.

The VR experience isn't as sharp as normal play (lower resolution) but is more than made up by what it adds.

Good to know about the motion sickness - as this was the biggest negative from most previews of the game. Seems good we can steel ourselves against it.

To be honest Simon I have been surprised by how well I have coped, It affects people in different ways and I thought I would be quite bad, but all in all nowhere near what I thought it would be.
I do seem to have gotten my VR legs so to speak, but I'm still not going to take my time to make sure.
Walking around a creepy house in VR is quite an experience, especially when it's this well done.

One thing that VR needs to be wary of is the psychological effects games in the future will have. I mean it will get to the stage were things will become so realistic and immersive that it will affect peoples mental stats... akin to what soldiers face after being in war conflicts. horrors and such could badly affect some folk

To be fair delboy I have thought the same, it is such an immersive experience, the detachment you get when you play games on a TV disapears, it's one of the reasons Horror works so well.
But yeah when you struggle to tell the difference between the real and virtual world, it has got to affect you.

I dont think it will even be a case of telling the difference between real worlds or not I mean in the soldier example they know that the world is not the same as the country they are currently fighting in but just the brain being shocked so much creates trauma that then moulds the brain differently which can create flashbacks and such during dreams and downtime, the brain can become really stressed in down times due to the intensity of images and experiences in war or in this case gaming.

Having owned PSVR for a while now I am more convinced than ever that VR is no gimmick.
The VR available now really is just the beginning, and as impressive as it is now it has it's limitations, resolution for me the biggest.
But it's potential is obvious and it is only a matter of time before VR takes it's place in societies media.
