So, another FA charge for Chelsea in relation to a mass "brawl" after this weekends game against Manchester City. This is the sixth time Chelsea have been charged with "failing to control their players".
Spurs are another club with repeated charges along these lines. Of course both teams were involved in the "Battle of the Bridge" last season. But Spurs were also cited for the same last season against West Brom, and not long ago also picked up the same charge against Aston Villa. Not to mention the rather long list of retrospective bans (15 times more bans than the average English club) their players have got for violent acts refs have missed.
The whole "respect" campaign means nothing if teams can be involved in countless multi-player brawls and get nothing more than an insignificant fine.
Now those of a certain vintage will remember Arsenal getting deducted 2 points and Manchester United 1 point for a bit of handbags in October 1990.
Surely now is the time to stamp down and start deducting points from these repeat offenders?
Chelsea should get at least a suspended point deduction if found guilty of this latest charge.
Also, on a different note, it is time for the PL/FA to stamp down on diving. In Scotland you get a retrospective ban for diving I believe, but down here you only get charged if you get an opponent sent off. Time to start punishing all divers.
The FA too soft on Spurs and Chelsea?

Should Wenger be punished for having the most red cards as manager?
