The announcement of The Last Of Us part II has made a lot of people very, very happy.
Of course there are other games that people will be excited about, a Red Dead Redemption announcement would be well received and Kojima's new game Death Stranding has people talking, but having watched peoples reactions the TLOU2 announcement, it struck me just how wide a spectrum of people TLOU has impacted.
These are just some I have watched, my favourite is the first because she isn't even a gamer, but she felt she had to play TLOU.

Of course there are many more, but you get the idea, TLOU struck a chord and stirs so much emotion with so many people, I can't think of another game that would do that?
anyone care to share what makes it so special, or shout out another game that can compare to the impact TLOU has had.

To contribute to the OP though, what would you want to see in the sequel? More of the same or any particular areas to work on?

It's a good question melton and to be honest I'm not sure of the answer, definitely more of the same as I think the original had huge production values, Graphics, Voice acting, motion capture and of course story all blended to make TLOU special.
In someways though the game was too long, but probably necessary for character development, so i'm hoping for a better paced game as the original after a strong start became a bit samey, but then took off again in the second half.
But what I really want is to know what has happened to Joel and Ellie and what will happen in the future.
