Thought Id create an article where folks can nominate their games of the year for 2016. Then on the back of it create an article in a week or so time listing ja606 game of the year awards.
Not sure how to it, im thinking of breaking it down to genre's (and not have it platform specific) and then also have an overall top 3 game of the year award just for the hell of it ? Maybe even have a indie game of the year also?
Genre's i think should be,
RPG
1st person shooter
Simulation
Sports game
Action
Other
(feel free to nominate any other genre you would like added)
Thought id do this before all the major online reviewers put theirs out so its our proper opinions that are given not echoing those of others then maybe compare what we get?

Ok I just realized most of what I love and play was not from this year. But here are the few that are.
Stellaris
Witcher 3
Pillars of Eternity: White March 2
Inside
Witcher 3 being an obvious choice. All in all not a year with classics galore but I feel Witcher 3 will go down as one.
Most games this year were hyped up so much that they didn't live up to it.

Fair enough..I know others who feel the same.
I have ordered divinity thro amazon for the ps4..will be the game I batter thro Xmas with I reckon..hope it's as good as you have said!..I also agree that it hasn't been a particularly strong year for game releases

You will enjoy it if you give it a chance. I've had maybe 4 playthroughs on it if I combine both the initial release and then the enhanced edition.
