Evening all!
A quick response is needed and a win would see us take top spot again for a few hours at least. One player we will need to stop is that bogle. As without him Grimsby haven't got a lot. 1 man team springs to mind.
Anyway I think we will win 2-1 with Rowe scoring first and a crowd of 10000

Playing well as a team.
Need to hold on to the ball a little bit longer at certain times during the game.

For those not at the game (those of you here might disagree)- it's been fairly even so far, Doncaster creating but missing an awful lot of chances. Twice Mandeville has been on the edge of the area, unmarked, and passed instead of taking a shot.
Williams is playing so so, Butler and Marosi are the only reasons we're still winning, and Mason at leftback keep up pace or strength wise with their winger- he's a beast. Definitely their danger man.
There's loads of Grimsby fans here and they are making an awful lot of noise.
I'll hopefully be tweeting if anyone wants to follow - it's @FootballMission

But perhaps playing 3 forwards the idea is to get the ball forward quickly

Mason *can't keep up the pace
The ref seems to be buying into the 'local derby' thing a bit too much and isn't interested in any claims to a foul we've had

My view is that we were far and away the better team in the first half and could easily have been two in front at the break.
Admittedly Grimsby had a golden opportunity to score with a header but we should have done better with two or three attacking positions.
There was one occasion also when Grimsby broke on the right wing and a square ball was inviting a tap in before Blair got it away.
The Grimsby Mayer went straight through Blair, a clear foul and possible booking and the ball fell to another player who lashed it over the bar.
It was just one of a series of really poor decisions by yet another terrible referee.
The second half was more even but in reality I though Grimsby didn't offer much of a threat, Marosi only had to make one save all game.
The second half showed up how valuable Copps is to us because we struggled to have control if the midfield and he makes such a difference in that area.
Houghton, Rowe and Mandeville were my stand out players today but overall everyone contributed to a ground out win.
What a goal by Liam, worthy of winning the game and very reminiscent of Beckhams free kick against Greece all those years ago.

They were big, strong, quick and aggressive but the only chances they had came from giving them the ball close to goal. We were lucky to get away with it three times. Having said that Rovers tackled, covered and harried them from start to finish. However with the notable exception of Mandeville's exquisite free kick for our goal it was a poor day at the office for the forwards. Winning ugly will do me. .

Marosi might have not had to make many saves, but when Mason was beaten time and time again, Marosi came out to stop Grimsby getting anywhere, including twice preventing corners with some clever play.

Hound just about summing it perfectly we did appear to miss 26 in midfield although the way we played today was a little different.
I didn't think mason was particularly bad gave the ball away badly on one occasion.
I gave M O M to blair.
Special.mention for a couple of players.
Middleton for staying professional and not letting their number 3 wind him up.
Baudry looked really good as well.
On thing I would like to know other option on is the.
Marquis williams combination.
To me there seems to be no chemistry between the 2 of them. They dont seem to know where each other wants the ball putting.
Mandy is growing up so fast.

I agree that Blair deserved the MoM and Lanza is quite right that Mandeville and, for me, Marosi look more assured with every game.

Really pleased DF didn't go down the Keegan route
