Some days back, I created a thread about Fabregas, and how Conte should have started or even brought him on earlier for the game against West Brom, knowing fully well they were going to setup defensively.
I also commended Conte for realising the game needed Fabregas, and later brought him on, albeit: a bit late.
However, it was a totally different story for the Sunderland game. Conte realsing that Sunderland were likely going to setup defensively, started with Fabregas ahead of Matic.
Some could argue that Conte was forced to start Fabregas ahead of Matic, to add more creativity in the absence of the injured Hazard, but whatever the case might be, starting Fabregas ahead of Matic was a brilliant decision which paid off, and it also shows the manger is flexible enough in his decision making.
I'm happy with Conte! Long may it continue.
I'm happy with Conte: He listens and acts!

Unlocking and beating the likes of Burnley, Bournemouth, Everton, Watford, Palace, Stoke, Leicester, 'Boro, West Ham, West Brom, Hull, Southampton, Swansea, Sunderland are very important and exactly the games that win you leagues (as was shown in title winning season with Fabregas as main creative protaganist), call that flat-track bullying or whatever but that is a fact.
Not the minority bigger matches.
I'm not sure I buy that arguement/notion that there is a significant difference between playing as part of two man midfield in 3-4-3 & 4-2-3-1.
Role which requires midfielders to protect defence and attack in equal measure (Ideally you have extremely mobile players to do it).
When one pushs forward to commit to joining attacks (Matic/Fabregas) in final third, the other hangs back (Kante) and vice versa (identical in both formations).
Any attempts to sign Verratti in January will be in vain, 100% staying at PSG.

Sure. Also, Conte brought him on early enough.

As he was at Sunderland next to Kante in 343.

Conte doesn't alter from 343/3421 to beginning with until there is a need to score or tighten up with subs in latter stages, then plan B: 352/442/433 comes into play.

It is clear Conte is not keen to use Fabregas in a 3-4-3 agst the more physical teams and that makes sense.....
