Solution to the ref problem.?

Went to stoke yesterday ,really great performance only spoilt by yet another unacceptable display of incompetance and inconsistency by the ref.
We all know that the standard of officials gets worse each season, yet the fa choose as usual to do nothing, and continue to allow these individuals to ruin games and rob the fans of their hardearned cash week after week, and actually decide the outcome of games by their errors.
I believe that about third of all games are decided by refs errors, and it shows the contempt that the fa have for the fans that this continues.
There is a simple solution to this, whenever a card is rescinded by panel(whoever they may be)then the relevant ban be it one or three matches is passed to the official who originally gave the incorrect decision.
This I believe would make the officials concentrate more and prevent them giving a decision based on what they though they saw, or in the case of Jon Moss ,what he wanted see.
One final point concerning yesterday, was disappointed that some of the players, actually went and shook hands with the officials,Ranieri didn't I believe, and should have asked his players to completely ignore ref at the end of the game. There is nothing in the rules about this, and given that a handshake is traditionally a sign of trust and respect, the officials yesterday deserved to be completely ignored.
How can there be any respect for professional referees when we are consistently subject to incompetance and dishonesty as we have seen for many seasons
Players get rightly criticised for diving and cheating, but as I have said before, that is not the main problem in the game, it is unaccountable and at times dishonest officials.
One final point did at sometime yesterday the man masquerading as a prem ref actually book the wrong player for City?

For me:
It wasn't a red card (but was arguably a yellow)
It was a penalty
Pawson lost control of the game, let previous situations cloud his judgement and needs a rest for a few weeks to rest and reflect before coming back stronger.

Main problem with the red yesterday was the ref thought that a 2 footed tackle was only a yellow on Wednesday but a red yesterday.

Rojo clearly should have seen red (shocking foul) but the referee was at least being consistent within that one game.

In my opinion the sooner football uses video reviews where difficult game changing decisions are required (especially red cards and penalties) the better. Technology works in other sports, why not here? By the way, without goal line technology would the ref have disallowed Leo's goal? UTF

I disagree, Double Decker. I don't want to see technology used like that. They use it like that in rugby union and it absolutely wrecks it.

Dunge, I do think they would have to be very careful to limit the situations in which video technology could be used (nobody wants play being stopped all the time for it) but if used properly I think it would help reduce the number of bad, game-changing decisions. On the other hand, the element of refereeing randomness that we see today certainly livens up many games and the subsequent debates on here! UTF

I can understand why the red card was given but it also should be rescinded. There is clear contact from Johnson which unbalanced him and in the end the tackle wasn't dangerous as his studs weren't showing and his contact with the ball then the players lower shin. It has to be rescinded in my opinion.

The penalty was harsh as he didn't mean to stop it with his arm but he did so fair decision.

I understand your concerns Dunge, but if only used for pens or red cards that really do change games, you can see the merit of video support.

It's clear today the 4th official supports the ref from his views from the monitors down his earpiece. If it was simply to ensure a red card or pen was correct if appealed, I don't see why not.

That said, I actually have a lot of respect for officials because they get things right most of the time. The amour of times I'm screaming at the pitch or the to only to realise the ref was right just shows how hard it is.

Also, I still like the concept of blaming the ref for a defeat - if all decisions were correct, we'd have to just accept it's our fault and we're rubbish 😂

For me, it was a harsh red, but players shouldn't be shocked at being sent off if they go into tackles with two feet off the floor. The penalty - seen them given. Agree re Pawson.
