Zola also said they deserved nothing from the game too. I think we have a habit of dragging teams down a level or two cos at the moment we're so hard to break down.

It's happened too often though for it to be a fluke, we dig in and as SM said have one or two footballers that can provide a defining moment. I'd love to see us balance defensive solidity with a bit more attacking flair but equally with the squad SM inherited I can see how his hands are tied somewhat.

JR seems to be dividing a few people but defensively in the 4-3-3 he is the best winger we've got easily. I wonder if Hughes/Bryson out there or on t'uther side with Ince moving to the left would offer us a bit more in terms of build up play as opposed to speedy winger-y-ness? Maybe just as an option against teams that are more pretty than thuggy.

Taking Hughes out of central midfield would probably be a bit Nigel Pearson right now (maybe with a returning GT in the spring ) or after a bit of January Albentosa-esque magic from Chris Evans.

i am a Russell fan but he seems to be under a bit of a poor run at the moment.maybe his confidence is a bit low.not to bad but not his best.he will be ok soon i think.he is not far of
