I realise I'm behind the times here but was wondering if anyone had any advice for starting playing GTA online. I completed the story mode on PS3 and then recently bought the game again for PS4. I hadn't played online until a week ago having not had Playstation Plus on the PS4 until my son bought me a month for Christmas and to be honest my time is limited. I've created a character and bought a garage. Done a few jobs and played a few adversary rounds. I'm only level 7. However, I played an hour last night and one guy just kept killing me. His car was bulletproof and he seemed to think it was hilarious to keep doing me in. Now don't get me wrong I get that's part of the game but he must be loads of levels higher than me. Any advice? Anything I'm missing? Should I join a crew etc?

I played it for a short period on the PS3. Hated having to listen to all these poxy American kids chatting away on there.

I thought there was a mode you could go into where people couldn't kill you and you couldn't kill them? Passive mode or something. If there was an idiot who kept wanting to kill me I would just select that. It might be lame but needs must.

Thank for the responses guys. I did find that I can 'opt out' so as not to get killed by others but I couldn't bring myself to do it. Did a couple of missions last night with a few other people and that seemed quite fun. Will probably dip in and out anyway. I need a football game

Also don't get the absolute top garage - get one of the others as there are usually less cants hanging about just shooting people, not been on it for ages but that was true when I played it on the PC.
