I like Nigel Clough BUT...

I like Nigel Clough and thought he did a good job for the Rams and I wished him well at the Blades and at the Brewers. However if he is daft enough to take the poisoned chalice at Notts Forest my opinion of him will most likely change.

I'd rather Burton went down than forest. Bigger game to look forward to. Maybe the only way of keeping Burton up is for him to take the forest job.
I have no feelings towards Burton what so ever. They aren't local and don't come from Derbyshire

They're nearly in Derbyshire and they have a Derby post code.

Come on Griff Nigel did a good job for us. He doesn't deserve Forest.

For Clough Once a red always a red in my eyes. I remember him kissing his forest shirt.
Burton Aren't local to me. Chesterfield are in Derbyshire but never get motioned on radio Derby. When Alfreton were flying in the conference they never got the coverage Burton did when they were in the northern prem.

Please don't mention Martin having a nibble at a Fulham shirt, at least it's white.

To be fair to Nigel he did play a lot of games for Forest, so you can understand why he feels something for this mess of a club.

The Radio Derby coverage includes South Staffordshire, so Burton are in. Chesterfield are in the Radio "there's trouble up t' mill", "where's me whippet" region. I did stick up for the Chesterfield striker when he had a bit of legal trouble much to 666's consternation.

Nigel Clough got the brilliant Chris Martin for £0. Good business, he deserves better than Forest. I hear the Liverpool job will be coming up soon, he did play for them.

Clough only has to look at Stuart Pearce under Al feckwit and how he ruined his legacy at Forest.

It is inevitable that one day he will go there, he'd be mad to do it under the current conditions. No infrastructure, dodgy owner, no money, poor squad, fans protesting, no transfer window to bring Brayford in, record low attendances..... the list goes on.

He will be seen as the second coming because of his name and it will all end in tears, in managerial terms he will never be anymore than what he is a Burton and he'd be shatting on Burtons owner for a second time.

In fact I want him to take it and see all the dogs that called him Non league Nigel and Judas etc..talk about a 3rd star 😂😂

Nigel has made up his mind and is staying at Burton. Well done Nigel you've made the right choice.

I'm pleased cos I can still like him.

is it me or are some posters on here missing something.?
all im hearing is..cloughies loyal, cloughies this cloughies that....
ive no grief with the man, dont care where he came from, where hes going,he did a pretty decent job here but couldnt take us any more forward..
now then.......
firstly,he left burton to come to us,did the rounds with sheffield utd...he was claiming benefits until burton rescued him a second time,
if i was the chairman of burton ,id of let him talk to forest, waited till he turned them down and then id of got rid of him before he was even on the a52 back down to burton.
he obviously didnt like what fizwaz was offering and so went crawling back to burton.if fazwiz said..here you go nigel.£50.000.000000,spend it how you want, run the club how you want,do you honestly think he d of turned em down???
loyal my ballacks.....being loyal means turning down florest straight away, abit like SM with newcastle..
shouts of ...he s made the right choice..... pffffffft.
if i was a brewers fan id be piiiissssseeeedddd..
like i was with sm..

rant over...

I tend to agree with you about Burton telling him to hiss off, but maybe he was stringing Forest along with Robinson's knowing. At least he was honest when another club came along, unlike some managers howay the lads.

You say he did a good job here but couldn't take us any further. How much further are we now and how much has this cost? I reckon with half the money he may well have done better than now.

he did a good job on the money he was given.wage bill/off loading the dross..etc.
well we ve finished higher in this league for a start, not that its alot to shout about, but its better than a relegation fight.we ve been unlucky at the wrong time of the season with injuries, swapping managers an all.
has the seasons go by,more and more teams are paying silly money for players in the championship.some turn out good, others not..i.e blackman.vydra, weinan.camara.butterfield..
its a lottery this league and if you re not in the first 6 come the end of the season then you dont play in the lottery..young nigel wouldnt of got us in the first 6....possibly last 6 though...

You might be right, but I would still have liked to see what Nigel could have done with the money as long as he didn't sign any more fish.
