SPL

Honestly, do you guys find it entertaining?

Just reading about your 21st consecutive win, not sure if that's in all comps. But surely you want a challenge.

I would suggest the advertising revenue, or lack thereof, makes a SPFLtv station or whatever unattractive.

Ohh but I would like to apologise for SLM acting like a cant, I like to be factual but there is no need to go out your way to insult.

No no no.

Point out all the logical flaws in the argument by all means.

And while you're at it also recognise that it would take someone with many millions to come in and take the existing deal away from Sky and BT.

I think the strictly logic argument would come down to ratios

Id agree its not subsidy - but also id state it simply is poor value for money for a scottish football fan. The darts argument is redundant as you cant apply any single sport crossover metric.

And jose your argument would be bang on in a larger market. Given the lack of new entrants with the.money.to do disruptive deals, however, it becomes theoretical only.

Conclusion? English football is the natalie portman of sport. Pretty to look at but ultimately doesnt put out.and isnt dirty enough to give you a chubby

................................

Not sure why not....

Darts fans who buy sky just for darts pay just the same amount as Scottish football fans, but Scottish football gets a whole lot more money.

Although if it really does have to be within the same sport then the Welsh leagues or the N. Irish leagues, you could probably make the same argument that these people are subsidising Scottish football using the population to tv deal argument used earlier.

They aren't at all though, the product is priced based on what worth companies can get out of it, or more accurately the lowest they can get away with without getting outbid.

There aren't exactly huge players out there but various internet providers have started offering their own services including for example Virgin. These companies aren't necessarily going to go out of their way to get football coverage but if Scottish football was worth 12 times what it was currently paid then they would happily come in and make a killing.

If the lack of competition killed the price then the PL tv deal would similarly stagnate but the deals are close enough to their true value to ward off competition.

But i didnt argue it was subsidy - merely that it might not be good vfm.

Im not saying its vfm for darts. Or welsh. Or irish. Or indeed modern dance.

Merely that you have a larger market than you are paying for and that isnt good vfm for scottish football fans.

And internet providers are getting better but concentrating largely on easier products.

Virgin still tap into other providers for football. Its a difficult market. Wven silly things like access to media facilities at grounds is conplex enough - unless you are hospital radio!!

Like i say its the lack of disruptive competitirs that really kill us. We need a football oober. A legal one that is

I should have read your post a bit more closely.

The vfm argument is fair, there are some Scottish football fans who like watching the English football as well so that group could actually be argued to be the most privileged in terms of vfm (well as much as English football fans who also watch Scottish football)

But then those who really don't bother with English football at all, even the big games (because plenty of English fans probably don't do that either) do lose out in terms of vfm.

Though if they loved other sports that come with the package they might still get better vfm.

vfm is a bit of a shift from the original argument which made out some kind of tv provider conspiracy to steal money from the Scottish game for the English game.... which is my excuse for not reading it when I even quoted you saying it!
