Afternoon Lads

Watched a brilliant short documentary series last night.

Only 4 episodes but completely riveting.

It's on Netflix and is called 'Shadow of Truth'.

It's very simlar to Making a Murderer but slightly more chilling.

Any other shouts?

The thin blue line is another good one if you enjoyed Making a Murder, Shadow of Truth and The Jinx

The Jinx was probably my favourite, Shadow of Truth was good but the Jinx had a much more satisfying ending.

Shadow of Truth is more about police incompetence than anything.

Lives and Deaths of Robert Durst is facking brilliant to be fair, shows exactly what can happen when you have plenty of money.
Unbelievable tale really, think it was a HBO show back in the day, well worth a watch.

Precinct 75 is also brilliant. Watched that a few weeks ago. The main thing is the ring leader of it all actually didn't give 2 facks about what he was doing either. His only regret was getting caught.

Quite enjoying The Americans at the moment.

It's a Cold War spy vs. counterintelligence drama/thriller series about married KGB agents living in the States and their struggles separating 'work' and family life (they have two kids), with the immediate attractions of their American lives vs. their love for the motherland, and maintaining the fiction of their arranged marriage.

The history of the Cold War is pretty interesting stuff, and some of the events of the day are covered in passing.

It's quite nicely stylised, representing the look and mood of the era well, and avoiding being stupidly over the top like the incredibly annoying Stranger Things, also courtesy of Netflix ("Hey, have you heard about this cool new band, Guns n' Roses?" says a kid in an ET t-shirt playing with a Rubiks Cube - OK we get it Netflix, it's set in the early 80's ).

Some of the storylines are a little predictable, but there are some nice unexpected twists, a bit of good, old-fashioned cold-blooded hit man action, and some semi-gratuitous bonking

I've heard more mixed things about the Americans, still on my to watch list though

Best thing I've watched recently was that BBC drama Taboo with Tom Hardy, excellent stuff

Peaky Blinders any good? Need a new show to start and it's either going to be that or Last Kingdom
