Reinforcements

Which established Prem league players do you think would fit nicely into the squad for next season? They need to improve the quality of what's already there and not unbalance the wage structure or dressing room etc.

First 11 is a given.

Sissoko does not fit into our best formation, is on massive wages and just not looking at home - he is a beast but lacks the skill and creativity to slot into the front three. I trust Winks far more in the midfield two than sissoko - positions which are currently bossed by Dembele and Wanyama. Dier covers well in that position but if we continue with 3 at the back then I feel we need another DM, especially with Dembele's injury history ......so, my shout is Drinkwater. Good age, English, international, won't command a massive wage and may accept a squad role.
This will allow Wimmer and CCV to cover the 3 at the back and Dier to concentrate on a defined playing role. Toby, Jan and Dier is a quality defensive, yet ball-playing, unit.

Lamela flatters to deceive and whatever is up with him at the moment (be it psychological or physical) needs to either get sorted now or he should be off in the summer - we have done just fine without him. I like lamela and his unexpectedness, which can create chances, but something is amiss with this lad. Prove me wrong Lamela!

To compliment the front three I think Son does ok, has a good link with them on the pitch and scores some vital goals, so Son stays. However, onamah for me has not hit the right levels yet. More loans out and maybe he'll benefit like Kane did. N'Koudou goes too. Replacement needs to be someone who is of good age, combines pace, able to play in any advanced position, is fairly two footed and is established in the Prem. Redmond? Ox-Chamberlain? Mahrez is now priced out. Edwards not yet ready. Redmond could be a great option.

We all know Davies is not a great back up to Rose, but similar to having Trippier on the right, who can we get who is not only a better back-up, but who will also push for a starting place? It shouldn't be about improving the back up wing backs - we need to push rose and Walker to new levels by putting their places under threat - healthy competition. I think it could be worth going for Bertrand. Excelling at Saints, good age and can play as a LB or wing back.
That for me would sort out both flanks and we could even keep Davies for cover for the back 3 (as he plays there for Wales).

Janssen. Oh Janssen. His supposed professional dedication is all that keeps him ticking along at the club - never gonna replace Kane, but if we finish top 4, we need to have another/new striker to challenge Kane - more than ever. This is the hardest position to get cover for when you have an almost irreplaceable striker. It's such a difficult area to cover I just can't think of any realistic target to challenge Kane that won't cost a fortune in fee and wages.

Are we overly reliant on the Alli - Kane relationship - or if we miraculously signed eg. Aubameyang, could Kane become one of the supporting two in Alli or eriksen's absence?

For years I have dreamt of spurs being this good AND consistently good too - I don't want it to end any time soon. But improving the squad going into a temporary home and hopefully another champs league season is going to be very difficult - but it has to happen. So:

Lloris, vorm and Pau

Rose and Bertrand

Walker and Trippier

Toby, Jan, Eric, Davies, wimmer (CCV)

Wanyama, Dembele, Winks and Drinkwater

Alli, Eriksen, Son, Redmond, Lamela

Kane, Janssen and......?

PS. Why and how did we miss out on Mané or Lallana?!!

There is only ONE top side in Italy at the moment -Juventus and he stood out in a league that is average to say the least.

Pogba the finished article.

There isn't only one top side, Napoli are certainly a top side. Roma arguably are as well.

Paul Pogba had ben one of the best midfielders in the world for a couple of seasons before he joined Utd. He was a big part of the near-treble wining Juventus side who lost out to a fantastic Barcelona side in the the Champions League final.

Ive followed football for well over 30 years now and seen some great central Midfielders, guys who were the complete package -

Hoddle, Gazza, Robson, Keane, Scholes, Gerrard, Viera, Modric, Matheaus, etc and Pogba dosent come close to those players imo

We will have to agree to disagree

Based on this season you are correct.

Not based on his time at Juventus though.

Chronic - care to actually suggest any squad member upgrades or not?
---------------

I want us to sign Damari Gray if we go after a lesta player, because I think he is hugely talented, but just very raw and needs guidance. that would be my "wildcard" type signing, alongside a proven striker and a pacey left wing back to understudy rose.

we also need another CB if CCV isn't ready yet, or wimmer goes (doesn't seem trusted any more) to allow Dier to actually be employed as a DM. we have been very lucky so far this season that Wanyama has stayed fit, unsuspended, and in excellent form.

Come on Edin you should know by now that all the players were better back in the day

Pogba is having a disappointing season but he might return to his Juve form. Certainly don't think he can be written off yet.
