Danny Rose - top 5 LB?

Now established as the no 1 LB in England, I'm wondering if Rose is now one of the very best in Europe?

He might still have doubters who bring up stereotypes from 3/4 seasons ago having not recognised his huge improvement, but those who understand football can see his quality now

As the comp above shows, not only is he quick and can run as a wingback all day, he's tenacious and aggressive in the tackle and tends to read situations well. What makes him stand out even further is his quality on the
ball, and his dummies/dribbles/feints can be Marcelo-esque at times

The only LBs I would call categorically better are Marcelo, Alaba, Filipe Luis and Alex Sandro. Jordi Alba has of course been a top player for years so he's debatable as well, but I prefer his style much less

Mendy of Monaco also looks like he can similarly be a world class LB, but he's only been on the scene for one season. Many other names such as Ricardo Rodriguez/Bernat/Kurzawa/Ghoulam I haven't seen anything to suggest they're better than Rose

Am I overrating him here? Does anyone else think he's one of the very best?

I can't believe how much Rose has improved, I wanted rid of him 2/3 seasons ago. As you say, excellent dribbler, great tackler, brilliant speed and agility, skill full, aggressive, tenacious, and has also developed his end product massively. Also chips in with the odd goal.

I don't watch as much football as some but I'm struggling to think of many better than him.

Wasn't very impressed with Sidibe or Bakayoko, I must admit. Mendy, Silva and Mbappe stood out for me. Lemar and Fabinho also look good but not destined for a massive club like the others imo

I really like Rose. Tenacious, fast and a great engine. As an aside, Bellerin p..sses all over Walker though imo. Although Bellerin has the potential to be the best RB in the world within a couple of years (especially when he goes to Barca sadly)

Walker & Bellerin ATM are probably same level but Walker is in his peak where bellerin you would assume will carry on improving

Fair enough. Bellerin won't stay too long though if we continue to flatter to deceive. Wouldn't be surprised if Pep at City make a few enquiries as he needs a full back or 2

Nah Walker > Bellerin as things stand, will likely change as Bellerin improves over the years
